The short answer

A general chat assistant explains Vaastu principles well. Ask what the Brahmasthan is, or the usual guidance for a staircase, and you get a clear, well-organised answer. For learning, it is genuinely good.

Orientation: a floor plan image has no North

A JPG carries no compass data. Architects place the North arrow inconsistently, leave it off, or the plan you photographed is rotated. Unless you say otherwise, any model assumes the top of the page is North. Get that wrong by 90 degrees and every conclusion inverts: the North-East pooja room becomes a South-East one, the Ishaan corner becomes the Agni corner, and the remedies are the opposite of what your home needs. Using ChatGPT for Vastu anyway? Get the least-wrong answer

Many people will paste their plan into a chat window regardless, which is a reasonable thing to do. Here is how to remove most of the avoidable error.

State the compass bearing of the top edge

Use a compass app and note which way the top edge of the drawing faces. This one sentence removes the largest single source of error.

Write out where each room sits: top-left, centre, bottom-right. Text is read far more reliably than small rotated labels inside an image.

Ask it to show the direction conversion

Make the directional arithmetic visible. If a conversion is wrong you will spot it, which you cannot do when only the conclusion is reported.

Ask it to list every assumption

Assumptions about North, about which room is which, and about plot shape are exactly where an answer quietly goes wrong.

Ask it to flag uncertainty

Explicitly permit the answer that it cannot tell from the image. A model allowed to be unsure is more useful than one pushed to be decisive.

Re-run in a fresh chat and compare

Where two answers agree, you can be reasonably confident. Where they differ, treat the point as unresolved.
